STEEP INCLINE BELT CONVEYORS
Steep Incline Conveyors, also known as Pocket Belt Conveyors, are used for vertical conveying and for moving product at an elevation. Pocket belt conveyors are used for conveying bulk materials at steep inclines, these inclines can range from 18 degrees up to 90 degrees.
Steep incline conveyors are used in place of drag chain conveyors and/or bucket elevators, particularly when the product attributes are better suited for less vigorous handling. One of the key benefits of a steep incline conveyor is that they maintain the feed and discharge properties of a standard belt conveyor.
The steep incline conveyor belt is typically fitted with corrugated sidewalls and cross cleats, which create pockets that contain the product as it is transported up an incline. Belt cleats prevent the fall-back of material particularly up steep inclines.

Steep incline conveyors are best suited for bulk product that may be less free-flowing or require more gentle handling. The product characteristics that indicate its suitability are the particle size and its flowability. Examples of product that can be successfully conveyed with a pocket belt conveyor include sand, fertilizer, ash, coal fines, chemicals, woodchips, metal parts, grain and other bulk materials.
Pocket belt conveyors offer reduced noise, minimize product spillage and the elimination of transfer points. This enables the continuous conveying of product.
